weekend review

garrett and i in human hamster balls at the fair

on thursday i went and visited kayla and luis at their new apartment. we had such a great and hilarious night catching up with each other. the next night, garrett and i went to the north texas state fair. michael had vip passes so we got to meet randy rogers and his band before the concert! and on saturday, i ended up at the rangers ballpark in arlington! overall, it was a busy fun-filled weekend.

yesterday garrett and i rode bikes from his house to big jon's to eat burgers. we then went over to miller's to grab some drinks and then rode to his old house on waco street. we sat on the front porch and just talked and watched people drive by. it was such a nice day so we just took time to enjoy it

a weekend in austin

this weekend meagan and i drove to austin (well technically pflugerville) to celebrate our friend ashlee's engagement and birthday. on saturday we celebrated ashlee's birthday with some cake and cute birthday hats. and on sunday we went wedding dress shopping and ashlee found HER/THE dress. it is absolutely gorgeous!

today was my last day in denton. i wouldn't call it bittersweet, just plain bitter would be more like it. i have grown to love denton over the past 3 years. it has become familiar and almost like my home. the city itself has its own unique style just like the people who live there. i will miss denton and all my awesome friends.
here are 5 things that i will miss the most about denton:

1. live music, art, and lots of festivals
2. the village church
3. ruby's diner on the square, denton county hamburger, & mazatlan
4. hipsters and hippies

i am so excited to be sharing this good news with you. i have been given the opportunity to travel back to Africa in January! Africa has such a special place in my heart and i am so glad that i will be returning.
